We created Kamp Kahuna in response to a shared longing: the deep sense that something essential has been lost in the way we live.

Many of us were never taught the foundations of a truly connected life β€” how to be in right relationship with the Earth, how to care for our bodies and regulate our nervous systems, how to feel and express emotions, or how to build honest, meaningful connections with others. We inherited systems that value productivity over presence, obedience over curiosity, and isolation over community.

This disconnection β€” from the land, from ourselves, and from one another β€” leaves many feeling fragmented and out of rhythm.

Kamp Kahuna is our response.

We are cultivating a living sanctuary that supports reconnection.

Rooted in the belief that healing arises through connection, we draw from Indigenous and ancestral wisdom while honoring personal agency, curiosity, and lived experience.

The Vision Behind Kamp Kahuna

The Residents

We want to partner with focused, health-conscious, fiscally responsible, and goal-oriented people who are intentionally building their lives.

KAMPUS: Property Map

We are located on three lush acres at the base of Mount Makaleha, just 12 minutes east of Kealia Beach.

Building healthy soil and creating biodiverse food forests is an ongoing journey. We focus on cultivating a select variety of tropical crops that we love.

Here, you'll find cacao, apple bananas, pineapples, papayas, roselle, taro, citrus, soursop, giant lilikoi, ulu, coconuts, star fruit, Malabar chestnuts, chickens, bees, and a thriving vegetable garden.

Kahuna Values

〰️

Kahuna Values 〰️

How We Operate

  1. Communication – Clear, written, direct, with a timeline. Reciprocity between speaker and listener.

  2. Make Clear Agreements – Versus unspoken expectations.

  3. Solution-Focused – A problem is an unborn solution. Challenges are the catalyst for creativity.

  4. Pono – Harmony with oneself, others, and the ʻāina. Give and receive in balance.

  5. Kahuna – Skill or expertise in yourself and others. Recognize and respect it.

  6. Kuleana – Accountability and responsibility.

  7. Agency / Consent – Each person has the power to choose.

  8. Boundaries – Be aware of physical, emotional, and energetic boundaries. Ask permission.

  9. Empowerment – The job of a leader is to create more leaders. Each day has opportunities for continued learning and growth.

  10. Self-Care – Comes first.

  11. Diversity – Antifragile ecosystems are biodiverse. Lean into blind spots with curiosity and a beginner’s mind.

These aren't just static words on a page, but rather an ongoing practice of mindfulness and alignment. These values are interwoven and interdependent; they help create the context for a life-affirming experience at Kamp Kahuna. We keep them alive daily, and they help us orient ourselves as we navigate discord or restorative processes.
